Coronvavirus Unemployment Benefits Provisions - ENGLISH and SPANISH

The Coronavirus Relief, Aid and Economic Security (CARES) Act extends unemployment insurance benefits for qualified people, and provides up to thirty-nine (39) weeks of unemployment compensation to workers who would not normally qualify for unemployment, but whose ability to work has been directly impacted by COVID-19.

People who are not eligible for regular unemployment payments under state or federal law, including the self-employed, people seeking part-time work, those who have used up their right to regular unemployment or extended benefits, or those with insufficient work history are now able to qualify for unemployment.

The 2022 Pass Through Increase: Effective January 1, 2022

ATTENTION: Parents Currently Receiving Cash Assistance from CalWorks

Starting January 1, 2022, if you receive cash assistance for your child or children through the CalWORKs program, the amount of the current month’s child support payment that is “passed through” to you may change from $50 up to $100 if you have one child, and up to $200 if you have two or more children living in the home. This is because the law that covers this “pass-through” has permanently changed. If the current child support collected is less than $100 for 1 child or less than $200 for 2 or more children, you will only receive the amount collected, NOT the increased amount. There is no action required and the increase will automatically start for child support collected on or after January 1, 2022. Have questions or want more information? Call us at (866) 901-3212 or visit childsupport.ca.gov/faq

Masks are required for all individuals in all indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status

December 15, 2021 through January 15, 2022 (surgical masks or higher-level respirators are recommended)

Masking Requirements

The COVID-19 vaccines remain effective in preventing serious disease, hospitalization, and death from the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Unvaccinated persons are more likely to get infected and spread the virus which is transmitted through the air and concentrates indoors. To ensure that we collectively protect the health and well-being of all Californians; keep schools open for in-person instruction; and allow California's economy to remain open and thrive, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is requiring masks to be worn in all indoor public settings, irrespective of vaccine status, for the next four weeks (December 15, 2021, through January 15, 2022).
